MY CRY BABY

The characters in this story are inspired by some people I met in this journey called “Life” but the story is completely fictional.

Hope you enjoy as much as I did, writing it.

Part one

It was raining heavily and sitting in the airport, waiting for my flight, all I could remember was her. My Cry Baby. Things are going completely wrong now and she was the only one I have always hung on ever since I can remember. I really hope she would forgive me soon and fix me up.

I can undoubtedly say that she was the best thing happened to me. I just completed my +2 and was in a state where I thought I knew everything. My group of friends introduced me to the world of internet, which was really a big thing then. It was completely new experience and literally had answers to every single thing. When I was in late teens, of all the people I acquainted online, she literally was my best friend forever.

We started texting each other when my holidays had just begun and her final exams were few weeks away. Being in different states and in different fields, it was bound to happen.

At first, our conversation was, hi! hello, and how the day went. I still wonder how the bond between us grew so thick. As both of my parents were working and me being a single child, there wasn’t much to do at home after my skill development classes and I looked forward to our texting almost each and every day.

As her exams approached, we exchanged our mobile numbers for her convenience. Her exams went up to a month and it was kind of boring to me and I missed her terribly. Texting her became a habit. Even through her minimal replies, we knew what happened in other’s life.

The completion of her college exams and my joining in a reputed engineering college was indeed blissful for me. Those days when I could let go of myself and just enjoy, life was indeed simpler and more beautiful then.

It was also at that point in time when I truly came to know about her nature, her behaviour, and everything. She taught me the first lesson about the complexity of girls. I could hardly understand her, she was emotional one second and apathetic the other, childish but mature and hated being criticized but analyses things when her mood is better. Typical Cancerian. Her silence when she is inside her shell upset, is quite famous I guess, because to convince her was literally a mission impossible.

Even with all the complexity, I could never let her go. It was always hell when she was in her famous silent mode. When I look back at all those years, I still feel she is a mystery to me.

A JOURNEY WORTH TAKING

It all started with my friend’s wedding. Initially, even though we have promised to attend the marriage quite earlier, we tend to exactly at the lunch or dinner time due to varied reasons, laziness being top of my list. But we agree with friends, who are adamant about getting in what they want and we end up doing what they want. Without any other go, I had to pack my bags for a week.

It was 3:30 am when I reached. Being the opposite of “an early riser”, I had almost nil experience of what that time, that too in a village, had to offer. As usual, a car was waiting to pick me up and to my amazement, the driver said it would take a full three hours to reach my destination, my friend’s place. And then my journey began.

I usually take the window seat and keep it open in case I feel sick. As the journey started, a cool early morning breeze blew over my face welcoming me to a new place. I had to close my eyes when the driver drove at a full speed. The breeze felt so pure that you couldn’t help but smile. What mattered then was to live in that moment and enjoy it well, for it may cease to exist. I didn’t know when was the last time I let myself go, after many moments of thinking, my inner self-answered, never.

I don’t recall how much time passed. Just being there was a total bliss. I was just happy to continue with my journey and hoped that it would never end. The chill breeze somewhere held so much warmth that I wanted to adhere to it. Never let go. To tell the time to freeze.

Much later I heard the lightening and that prompted me to open my eyes. Sun was coming up and I could see the vast surroundings. We were traveling through quite a narrow road which was surprisingly good and covered on either side by Banana tree samplings. In no time the car was stopped due to blockage from a tree.

The driver suggested that it would be better to take an alternate mud route. I didn’t argue as he was the person from that place and he would know what was best to do at that juncture.

That other route was a real “muddy” one and suddenly I was all over the place in the back seat of the car. The icing on the cake happened to be the lightening turning to rain. Thank God, it was just a drizzle. Though there’s always a period of fear in me between the smelling breeze and the time when the rain comes cracking down turning into a disaster, I had to let that fear go. I didn’t want to get stuck in an anonymous place. Pretty soon my mind was diverted to the driver’s words. I came to know that, that was the first rain of the year at that place.

You will always push away the thought of going on a bumpy ride when you are close to nature. And for me, it was nature at its best.

With more and more daylight covering the damp soil, the leaves were being washed away of all the dirt they had given them the most spectacular look. That’s when the driver requested to close the window to my utmost disappointment.

The only view I could get of the outside world was from the front windshield. As the humidity inside the car grew, the driver spotted a dancing peacock. Instinctively I opened the window and with the backdrop of bark and greenery, I saw a flock of them. Now I know why the rain dance of peacock has been the subject of many poems and art work. You really have to see this marvel of nature, by yourself. I was amazed to see it when I was a kid but to see it in the wild doing its dance was something else entirely. I could never take my eyes off it. The elaborate kind of dance, the fanning out of its tail and preening its feathers is a beyond beautiful site, felt like watching it for a long time. Soon I could see few rabbits, a group of deer and the scene turned way beyond my imagination, it was that soothing and healing. This is that miracle of mother nature where all the accomplishments of mankind are minute in front of it.

I couldn’t part my gaze on it but the journey must go on to reach my destination. This journey was not “the journey” kind but it felt like a journey within my own self. It starts with the process of letting ourselves go and let mother nature take over. That’s where a simple ride becomes the journey of discovery. A discovery that if a journey through nature can have a better understanding of one's own self then, even if we start out on the dark side, you could always have time to turn it around.

I am grateful for all the blessings that I have, for the journey I was on, which I would relish forever.

We’re put here on earth to learn our own lessons. No one can tell you what your lessons are; it is part of your personal journey to discover them. On these journeys we may be given a lot, or just a little bit, of the things we must grapple with, but never more than we can handle.
- Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

Our task must to be free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.
-Albert Einstein

Success is a journey not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome.
-Authur Ashe

To laugh often and much,
To win the respect of intelligent people
And the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics
And to endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better
Whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

P.S.
This is dedicated to my friend who recently got married and made me travel to a village. Congratulations on her new beginning. Wishing you a wonderful beginning and love to last a lifetime.
May God bless you with all the happiness and prosperity.

OS...A SURPRISE...

This is my first attempt to write something...hope you people don't hit with me with rotten tomatoes and eggs...
This one shot is dedicated to my best buddy SILKY ARORA...I really hope she likes it...
This one shot is written from the episode where geet lost her baby...I was mad at way story progressed...so this came upto my mind...

PART 1

Geet spends most of her time in baby's room...crying.. Maan couldn't take it anymore and he himself was shattered from within..he went out of the room and broke a window glass out of his frustration and helplessness...his hand starts bleeding terribly'but something else was more painful than this pain...

Geet who heard the sound was terrified to the core'she came out running...she saw maan's bleeding hand'she cried even more seeing him in such state...

Maan stood staring at geet as she ran and got a first-aid kit from the room...

She takes his hand and carefully removes the glass pieces still stuck to it...she applies the cream and bandages it...

Maan tries to wipe out her tears but she pushes him away...

She says aap mera dukh aur kyon badana chahthe ho? Maine pehle hi apna ek hissa ko diya hai aur ab apko kuch hote hue main sapne mein bhi mahi dekh sakti..please maan I need some time to overcome this...and I knew you would understand but today you scared me so much...

Maan tries to pacify her by saying I am really sorry geet...aage se aisa kuch bhi nahi hoga..i promise...

She also takes a promise from him to not to injure himself in future under any circumstances...

After that incident geet tries not to cry in front of maan though she was broken within...and maan dint allow her to work as she is completely not recovered...so she tried to spend her time with dadi and annie...

Annie too tries to help geet to get out of that situation...she takes geet out to movies and shopping...she tried her level best to divert geet's mind...

Geet appreciated annie's effort and started turning out to be her true self...she remembered her baby as an angel which united her and maan...

Maan was relieved to see a change in geet...and was thankful to annie...

After a few days...in the middle of one night...he dint find geet beside him...he searched the whole house but was unable to find her...suddenly everything was blank to him...he felt his heart explode...his knees grew weak...tears were flowing continously...somehow he gathered courage to find his love...he dint want to disturb other members so he alone went out in search of her but was immensely happy to see her sitting in the garden looking lost...

He quickly wiped out his tears and went to sit beside her...

As soon as geet saw maan she gave him a side hug which he reciprocated warmly...there was complete silence between them but it spoke a lot...

Suddenly geet asked him to accompany her for walk...though it was late he couldn't deny her wish...

As they were walking geet held maan's hand and starts swinging it to and fro like a small child...she remembers her father taking her for a walk rarely during nights...

Maan could see tears forming in her eyes...he tries to break the silence and tells her that its 12:30 and asks her if they can return back...

Geet just turns and hugs him with such an intensity that he is taken aback by few steps...they both dint know how much time they were in eachother's embrace in the middle of the road...it felt like heaven to both of them after all that they have gone through...

After don't know how much time geet shivered a bit due to the increasing cool breeze touching them and it was then maan came out of the trance...

Maan broke the embrace and tells geet its high time we should be at home...

Geet simply says mujhe godhi mein ghar le chalo na...mujhe bahut neend aa rahi hai

Maan simply stares at her at what she said...he stood puzzled at how can she change her mood within such a short period of time...it was not that he cannot carry her...but they were very far from the mansion and he was tired after all the work at khurana construction...and he too was really feeling very sleepy...

he was back to his angry man's avatar...

tum sach mein pagal ho gayi ho geet...ab bas bahut ho gaya...jaldi ghar chalo

geet too was back to her old self as soon as maan called her pagal...

Pyaar mein log na jaane kya kya kar jathe hai?? Aur aap mere liye itna bhi nahi kar sakthe??

Accha toh pyaar mein logg bahut kuch kar jaate hai na toh tum mujhe kyon nahi utta kar ghar le jathi...

She was stunned by this reply...

Hesitantly she told aisa bhi kabhi sunna hai ki kisi ladki ne ladke ko godhi mein uthaya ho...aap...aap se toh ummed rakhna hi bekaar hai

Saying so she starts walking faster...

Maan too starts walking behind her with a small smile on his face...

As soon as he reaches khurana mansion he sees geet leaning onto his car n probably sleeping...

Maan laughed like hell...hearing his laughter geet was awake and gave him a glare...and starting walking towards mansion...but maan quickly comes from behind and scoops her in his arms and takes her to bed and covers her wih blanket...and she drifts into sweet dreams...

The next day maan went to his office while geet was still asleep

He calls her from office...

Geet was mad at him for his behavior the previous night...so she dint pick up the call...but maan being maan keeps on calling....frustrated...geet picks up the call..

Geet main ek important file ghar bhul gaya..bring it...clients are waiting...

Without another word he ends up the call...she was now more mad at him...

But she thought to khurana constructions to give the file and reaches there on time...

As soon as she enters the office delighted pinky and adi sir take her somewhere...

Maan notices this...

Geet enters a dark room which lights up suddenly surprising her...it was her birthday...

PART-2

This was a store room which had a well decorated table at the centre...with a circular small cake on it...though it was a very simple set-up, geet was touched...she felt her eyes filled up...

Pinky gifts her a black netted sari

and forces her to wear it..she desperately wanted to see geet in that sari...she also felt geet wont be avaliable in evening as maan sir might have something planned out for sure...and she dint have the guts to intrude in between...

Geet too couldn't deny her wish after pinky said geet...!! tu apne dost ke liye itna bhi nahi kar sakti...

Both adi sir and pinky felt very happy after she agreed...

Geet leaves for washroom to change after keeping the file on the table...

Maan was getting angrier by each passing second...the clients were waiting for the file and geet was no where to be seen...
He asks tasha about geet...

sir, geet went towards store room...

He wondered what was she doing there when she knew he needed the file urgently...

He enters store room with 'you are going to pay for it badly' kind of look...ADI GEET KAHA HAI...terrified adi sir and pinky hid the cake behind the back...as it was a bit small one they could do it easily...

Geet was walking adjusting her pleats...she started speaking without even realising maan was there...pinky saadi theek toh lag rahi hai na??

Maan turns and starts scolding...without giving others any chance to speak...

geet tumhe yaha aaye hue aadha ghanta ho gaya aur tumne abhi thak mujhe file nahi di?? pata hai clients kad se wait kar rahe hai?? tum sach mein ek chota sa kaam bhi theek se nahi kar sakti...ab file kaha hai??..

adi sir and pinky too were rooted to the spot...turning towards them maan said aur tum dono...tumhe koi aur kaam nahi hai kya sivaye bak bak karne ke??

Geet felt bad...she moved forward took the file from the table gave it to maan without any eye contact and left the place...

Maan cursed himself for behaving like a jerk and was about to call geet when sasha came and informed him that clients are waiting...unwillingly he went to complete the meeting...

Adi sir and pinky were relieved...

As soon as the client leaves, he calls pinky

pinky, geet kaha hai?

sir woh toh tab hi ghar chali gayi thi...

He desperately wanted to go gome and sort out things...he scolded himself for behaving such way...he thought kal hi toh usne thoda sa muskuraya tha...kal hi mujhe meri purani geet mili thi...usko palko pe bithane ke bajaye maine kya kiya...he gets up and starts walking...mein sach mein bahut bura hoon...bahut bura...he was about to punch the wall but he stops in mid air thinking about the promise...a small smile crept upon his lips...

He rushed towards the exit to meet geet but was stopped by sasha...

MK abhi toh bahut important meeting lined up hai

Sab cancel kar do
no MK ye meetings hum bahut dino se postpone karte aa rahe hai...aur postpone karna theek nahi hoga...

he cursed his fate...theek hai tum chalo mein aata hoon...

After all the meeting were over it was almost 7...he even had to skip his lunch...he thought ab geet mujhe aur gussa na ho jaye...he was almost ready to leave his cabin when he heard the knock...

Angrily, come in

Adi sir and pinky hesitantly came in...

Both were signalling each other to talk...

Ab bologe bhi??

sir hum toh bas...abhi shaam ko vaise bhi...geet aur aapka...she was sluttering...isliye humi ne woh sab...hum toh cake bhi...

maan couldnt make the head and tail of it...but he was curious to know what cake are they talking about?

cake? kya cake?
Adi sir and pinky stood confused...and saw each other with question mark faces...

sirrr aapkko nnahhi pattaa aajjj tohh geeet kaa janmm dinn hai...

part-3

maan was stunned...

tum ab jao yaha se

they both went away..

he cursed himself for forgetting her birthday..

how could he forget the most beautiful day of his life?

What might have she thought when he didn't wish her the previous day at midnight?

Oh god..!! what have I done??

He really had to do something to make up to her...

He tries to find her but watchman says she left to the mansion with driver..

At around 8-30pm
In Khurana mansion

Geet's phone rang... it was maan...

Geet..drawer mein second file leke yaha jaldi aana...mujhe zarurat hai..urgent hai..pata nahi mein kaise bhul gaya..

Scolding him in her thoughts...Theek hai mein lathi hoon..

Maan smiled as he thought of this..as it's bound to happen with his geet..talking to herself...

She finally notes the address of that hotel

After reaching there, she enquires about that particular hall at reception

Ye crystal hall kidhar hai?

Second floor madam

Okay..thank you

She found the hall and went in...

It was completely dark...she scolds maan...

ye maan bhi na...pata nahi mujhe kaha kaha phasa dete hai...

she was about to leave but stood still when she saw her own shadow at the front of the floor...

she turned back to see what it was..

there was a big projector screen

on it was a message written with red color and with all the beautiful colors in the background...

To...My LOVE...it disappears..slowly..

To...My SWEET HEART...disappears...

To...My SOUL...disappears

To...My MISHTI...disappears

on their own marriage pic, two half hearts come a unite at center with two of them in between...

Dim lights starts to appear..

Geet is speechless and completely in tears...she couldn't utter a single word

Maan came and hugged her from behind'and spoke in her ear...

she turned and hugged him tightly never to let him go...

after sometime maan pulled her away from him and saw her teary eyes...wiping her tears away he nodded his head indicating no

She placed a gentle kiss on maan's forehead carefully not trying to wake him up and slipped into sweetest of all dreams...

And the scene faded away...
